American Caterpillar Company Releases D Series Hydraulic Excavator

Caterpillar Inc. has developed a new D-Series hydraulic excavator that is more efficient, flexible and versatile than the replacement C-Series excavator.

The new D-Series hydraulic excavators include three products: 324DL, 324DL and 330DL. Caterpillar claims that the series of excavators are powered by Caterpillar's ACERT engine technology, which is the smallest of any excavator.

Caterpillar also said: "The new cab is more spacious and the overall design is also significantly different from the previous equipment."

These three new excavators are more powerful than the previous generation and increase the pressure on the hydraulic system. Caterpillar says this will increase the ability to break and boost, reduce work cycle time, and increase efficiency.

Caterpillar said, "The weight of the D-series is set to the standard mode of the product. As long as the switch is activated, the hydraulic system will automatically increase the system pressure and enhance the weightlifting performance of the equipment."

The 324DL is the smallest of the three new devices, with a weight of 24.8 tons and an engine power increase of 12% over the previous generation 322CL.

The 325DL weighs 29.24 tons and the power is 8% more than the previous generation 325CL. The 330DL machine has a mass of 36.15 tons and the engine power is increased by 9% compared to 330CL.

The D-series excavator is equipped with an original pre-installed additional hydraulic system, including a dedicated one-way high-pressure hydraulic circuit such as a breaker and hydraulic shock. It also includes a two-way hydraulic circuit that can be equipped with a variety of other hydraulic machine tools.

The D-Series tooling control system allows operators and technicians to set the flow and pressure required by the hydraulic system through the monitor in the cab without having to use expensive tools.

Customers can preset and store up to 10 different hydraulic flow and pressure modes as needed to accommodate different hydraulic machine tools.

The other two smaller units are equipped with a CatC7 engine and the 330DL is equipped with a CatC9 engine.

Fuel control uses Caterpillar's ADEMA4 electronic control module to maximize unit fuel efficiency, while the engine control system provides a flexible fuel solution that allows the engine to respond quickly to changes in actual demand.

To reduce power consumption and noise, the 330DL uses a hydraulically driven fan controlled by an electronic control module to dissipate heat, and the fan speed automatically varies with system cooling requirements.
