In Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Germany, the world’s first wind-hydrogen hybrid power station was put into operation. Hybrid power stations can combine renewable energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy with hydrogen, biogas, and geothermal energy sources to solve the problem of unstable grid-connected renewable energy. This power station in Germany can use the excess electricity generated by wind power generation to electrolyze hydrogen. Hydrogen can be directly used in hydrogen fuel cells for electric vehicles or used in conjunction with natural gas during peak periods to generate electricity. At this stage, the scale of the power station is relatively small, consisting of three sets of two-megawatt wind turbines. In the next phase, it will continue to build three power stations, build larger demonstration facilities, and combine the prepared hydrogen into the natural gas pipeline.
