On April 16, the first municipal sludge disposal project in Wuhan started at the Longwangzu Wastewater Treatment Plant in Wuchang District, marking the city's outdated sludge disposal method to usher in changes. The total investment of the project is 30 million yuan, and the daily sludge disposal capacity is 300 tons. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in August this year. The project uses advanced cement kiln co-processing technology to convert sludge from sewage treatment plants into dry powder similar to compressed biscuits, which is used as raw material for cement production and realizes the harmless, stable and resourceful disposal of municipal sludge. After the project is completed and put into operation, one-third of municipal sludge treatment in Wuhan will bid farewell to the traditional simple landfill method, and it will enter a new phase of recycling, turning waste into waste.
