Bridgestone (Americas) Tire Corp. announced that it has begun the expansion of its construction machinery tire plant in Bloomington, Illinois, USA, which has been operating since 1994.
The expansion project will invest US$19.5 million (most of which will be used for new purchases of machinery) and is expected to be completed by mid-2013. The new production capacity will mainly produce tires for heavy industry use. Bridgestone (Americas) announced in September 2011 that in addition to its parent company, Bridgestone, expanding its steel cord factory in Clarkes, Tennessee, the company plans to operate in Acon County, South Carolina, Tennessee. Warren County, Des Moines, Iowa, tire factory invested 1.3 billion US dollars.
