The output voltage of the preamplifier is constant when there is no particle in the fluid flowing through the sensor window. When particles in the liquid sample enter the sensor window, part of the light is blocked by the particles, and the amount of light received by the photodiode is reduced, so that the output voltage generates a pulse. Since the amount of light blocked is proportional to the projected area of ​​the particle, the amplitude of the output voltage pulse directly reflects the size of the particle. By accumulating the number of output voltage pulses, the number of particles of different sizes can be obtained.
From the working principle of particle counter counting, it can be seen that the relationship between the injection volume, flow rate and sample concentration of the particle sensor, the resolving power of the particle sensor, the measurement size of the particle sensor and the corresponding threshold voltage are related to whether the sample can be tested accurately. Medium particle size and quantity are closely related.

If the particle concentration of the sample is too high, two or more particles will appear simultaneously in the sensing area when passing through the window of the particle sensor. Will cause a counting error. The maximum concentration of particles can be made when the counting error is less than or equal to 5%. Therefore, the instrument manufacturer specifies its particle concentration limit based on different types of particle sensors.
