Before flotation quartz sand, generally require scrubbing, desliming, or removal of the iron-containing minerals with a shaker, magnetic separation or the like, and then flotation first stirred vigorously in concentrated pulp before flotation to wipe An iron oxide film on the surface of the quartz is then floated with a fatty acid collector to remove the iron-containing mineral. The product in the tank is a quartz concentrate.
The composition of quartz sand is relatively complicated, in addition to iron-containing minerals, there are often mica , feldspar and clay minerals. Depending on the composition, the quartz flotation process can be divided into the following eight types (see the figure below).
(1) First floating mica re-floats the last floating feldspar containing iron minerals. First adjust the pH of the slurry to 3 to 4 with sulfuric acid, float the mica with an amine collector, then adjust the pH of the slurry to 4 to 5 with hydrochloric acid, float the iron-containing mineral with sulfonated petroleum as a collector, and finally use fluorine. The hydrogen acid is adjusted to a pH of 2 to 3, and an amine is used as a collector to float the feldspar. Quartz is produced in the form of tailings (Figure I).
(2) In the order of floating iron minerals, mica, and feldspar (Figure II). The order of collectors used is sulfonated petroleum-amine-amine.
(3) The floating feldspar is first floated with iron minerals, and the tailings are quartz concentrates (Fig. III). It is suitable for quartz sand with low mica content.
(4) Only iron minerals are floated, and the tailings obtained are quartz concentrates (Fig. IV type). Use tall oil as a collector and adjust the pH to 8-9 with sodium carbonate. After flotation of iron-containing minerals, the tailings are quartz. In the case where there is no mica and feldspar in the ore, or if the ore contains less feldspar and there is no need to separate it, it is advantageous to use this simple process.
(5) When the quartz sand contains more feldspar, adjust the pH of the slurry to 7-8 with fatty acid as the collector, float the iron-containing mineral, add hydrofluoric acid and amine flotation feldspar, and finally in the slurry. When the pH is 7-8, the amine is used as a collector to float quartz (Fig. V type).
(6) The pH of the slurry is adjusted to 7-8, and the iron mineral is floated with sulfonated petroleum. Then, when the pulp pH is 7-8, the quartz is floated with an amine (Fig. VI type). This scheme is suitable for the case where there is no feldspar in the raw material, or the content is small and there is no need to separate it.
(7) Amine is used as a collector, mixed with flotation quartz and feldspar, mixed with concentrate and hydrofluoric acid and amine flotation feldspar, and tailings are quartz concentrate (Figure VII).
(8) After the floating iron minerals, the mixed flotation of feldspar and quartz is carried out. It is suitable for quartz sand with high iron content (Figure VIII).
Hydraulic Aluminum Metal Baler used to crush, cut and bale a wide range of scrap metal.
