Recently, Vard Electro received a contract for the delivery of a British Polar Research Ship under construction and electrical installation contract worth 100 million Norwegian kroner ($11.8 million). 
The 130-meter-long polar research vessel is called "Sir David Attenborough" and the shipowner is the British Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). It will be built by Cammell Laird Shipyard and will be designed by Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce's Bergen B33:45 engine.
According to the contract, Vard Electro will install the SeaQ communication system for the ship, including remote management and a complete electrical engineering package. The contract was signed by Vard Electro and Cammell Laird, including the provision of engineering resources, support for the shipyard drawing approval process, and installation of the complete electrical system and equipment.
It is reported that Vard Electro has installed equipment for more than 300 ships worldwide, including complete power management, propulsion, automation and navigation systems.
