Xi'an Jiaotong University screw compressor technology won the National Technology Progress Award

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council held a National Science and Technology Awards Conference in Beijing on the morning of February 27th. The "Spiral Compressor Design Theory, Key Technologies and Series Product Development" project completed by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Yantai Ice Wheel Co., Ltd. won the second prize of the 2006 National Science and Technology Progress Award. The main researchers involved in Xi'an Jiaotong University include Xing Ziwen, Wu Huagen, Shu Pengcheng, Peng College, Chang Yunfeng, Cao Feng, He Zhilong, Cui Tiansheng, Song Huxin, Li Jianfeng, Yang Bingchun, etc. Professor Xing Ziwen attended the awards conference on behalf of the research group. .

Through in-depth theoretical and experimental research on the screw compressor system, the project accurately reveals the inherent law between the thermal dynamic performance of the compressor and the design parameters of the rotor profile, and forms a complete screw compressor design theory. A number of key technologies, such as rotor profile design methods and tool edge design techniques for machining rotors, were proposed and overcome, and SCCAD screw compressor design calculation software was developed. The project has authorized 12 patents, 1 software copyright, 21 papers by SCI and EI, and 1 monograph. In addition, in cooperation with well-known companies in the industry, we have developed a series of screw compressors, which generally save 5% to 8% and reduce noise by 5 to 10 decibels. The project appraisal conclusion is: reaching the leading level of international similar technology and products.

The key technologies and software of the project have been transferred to more than 20 domestic and overseas enterprises, and the products developed have brought huge economic and social benefits to the country. The project results have solved the common problems of the industry and have played a significant role in promoting the technological progress and optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure of the compressor and refrigeration air-conditioning industry in China.
