Adding new products to markets such as precision instruments

Analog Devices, Inc. has introduced the ADA4899-1 operational amplifier. Because the op amp minimizes two fundamental sources of error (voltage noise and harmonic distortion), it is easy to address the design challenges of high-resolution data acquisition systems. The ADA4899-1 is the industry's first unity-gain stable op amp with 1nV/√Hz voltage noise and 117dBc (1MHz bandwidth) spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) for applications requiring the highest accuracy, such as radar-based protection. Collision systems, medical ultrasound and precision instruments.

According to reports, the circuit structure of the ADA4899-1 operational amplifier is patent-pending, with an inherently traditional input stage, which solves the trade-off between noise and distortion of basic performance. The ADA4899-1 also features a direct current (DC) input specification for high speed op amps: 0.23mV offset voltage maximum and 1μA input bias current maximum. It can also be used with the ADI PulSAR family of ADCs, including the AD7674.

The ADA4899-1 is now fully operational and meets specified specifications in the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Two package options are available, one is a small 3mm x 3mm LFCSP (lead frame chip scale) package that reduces pin inductance, provides good heat dissipation and saves board area; another is traditional 8-pin SOIC (small outline integrated circuit) package.
