Effects of Tillage Methods on Soil Moisture Content in Soybean Field

The average soil moisture content of 0-30cm in the soil profile during the period from sowing to harvesting was the order of stubble cover, stubble-free coverage, and conventional tillage; soil moisture was not significantly different between stubble-free coverage and conventional tillage; 0-10cm soil layer soil Moisture content, stubble coverage, and stubble mulching and stubble cultivating were 12.3% and 10.6%, respectively, relative to conventional tillage. Soil moisture did not differ significantly between treatments at 10 to 20cm level; stubble coverage at 20 to 30cm level was less than that at stubble and conventional tillage. Relatively high 3.6%. Compared with traditional tillage methods, stubble coverage due to reduced number of moving soils and straw cover inhibit soil evaporation, and has strong water retention capacity, especially for 0-10cm soil layers. Traditional tillage surface has no straw and loose soil, resulting in evaporation of surface water. Large amount of soil moisture is small. The different content of soil moisture, we can measure through the soil moisture temperature speedometer. The soil moisture temperature measuring instrument not only can measure the soil moisture, but also can transmit the various parameters of the soil moisture through the wireless method.
The recharge of soil moisture in dry farming is mainly from precipitation. The increase and decrease of soil moisture content is the result of the interaction of precipitation with soil moisture evaporation and crop transpiration. Ma Chunmei and other studies have shown that there is no straw protection in the traditional cultivation ground. Under the direct slap of rain, the surface is easy to crust and produce runoff. Straw cover significantly reduces the direct sunlight to the ground, avoiding direct wind blowing on the ground and reducing evaporation. This test combined with measured data and precipitation analysis from April to September 2008 showed that (in which the determination of relevant data needs to pass a certain instrument, such as a small meteorological station, for the determination of rainfall): the soil water content difference between the treatments on May 1st Little, mainly due to the accumulated 20.2mm precipitation on Apr. 22-29 and the low transpiration and soil evaporation of the crops. It also shows that if there is sufficient precipitation before sowing, the effect of straw mulching to increase the soil moisture in the sowing period is not obvious; After the deep loosening on the 13th of the month, the soil moisture content in the entire 0-30cm soil layer showed the following: remaining stubble covered> remaining stubble without cover> conventional tillage, the most obvious difference was 0-10cm, mainly due to the precipitation from June 1-3 14.6mm, there is no precipitation for 10 consecutive days. This also shows that the effect of keeping the surface layer covered with water is obvious. On July 7th, the crop enters a rapid growth period, and on July 6th, precipitation is 26.6mm, showing 0~10cm level of moisture. The content is greater than the following levels; on July 27th, the growth rate of crops further accelerated. Even if the precipitation amounted to 23.7mm on July 18, there was no precipitation afterwards, and the water requirement for crops and soil evaporation amounted to a large amount, resulting in stubborn cover tables. The moisture content was only 15.05%. On August 20th, although the water content of the surface layer covered by stubble remained greater than that of stubble and traditional tillage, the precipitation was only 16.5mm on August 1-12 and there was no precipitation for 10 consecutive days. It is also very low, indicating that stubble coverage has a certain degree of drought resistance, but it is difficult to withstand continuous drought; the precipitation was 32.2 mm on September 18-22, and the soil moisture content was high on September 24, further illustrating the important role of precipitation on soil moisture. After the crop was harvested on October 19, the autumn season was characterized by large winds, low precipitation, and decomposition of straw. There was no significant difference between treatments.
