GM's new Mai Rui Bao put into production in advance to early 2012

Geester Automotive reported that General Motors Corp. has announced that the company’s new generation of Chevrolet Malibu will be put into production several months in advance and is expected to start production in January 2012.

General Motors spokesman Dave Darovitz said that the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu launch date will be advanced to early 2012, and after that, the model will soon be put into the market, but Darovitz did not disclose the specific listing of the car date. It is reported that the new Mai Rui Bao will be debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show held in April 2011. It is Chevrolet's first mid-to-high-end model for the global market.

Based on previous news, the new Chevrolet Malibu launch date will be advanced from May 2012 to January 2012. General Motors will also recruit employees for the start-up of the new model, and the new model will be put into production at the Fairfax plant in Kansas, USA, which currently produces the cash Chevrolet Malibu.

It is reported that General Motors CEO Daniel Akerson supports plans to advance the production date of the new Chevrolet Malibu because it will be GM’s first global strategic model. Darovitz said: "Exxon had asked us to study whether it could bring Malibu to the market in advance."
