The first negative sales growth of passenger cars, energy saving subsidies will not be canceled

Yesterday, Dong Yang, Secretary-General of China Automobile Association, disclosed at the information conference that the basic confirmation of the subsidy will not be cancelled.

In May, the passenger car market remained sluggish, with 1,049,900 units sold, a drop of 8.71% from the previous quarter. The year-on-year decline was 0.11% year-on-year, with the first negative growth during the year. From January to May, the increase in sales of passenger cars continued to decline from January to April. Japanese car maker Toyota and Honda’s sales in China’s joint ventures have fallen sharply, and Japanese car market share continues to decline. At present, the exit of policies has the greatest impact on crossover passenger vehicles. The negative impact of the earthquake in Japan has further manifested and some Japanese joint ventures have experienced severe underemployment.

Talking about the “double down” status of China’s auto production and sales, Dong Yang said that at present, the government should no longer issue negative policies and news, and the automobile industry, which has experienced a significant slowdown, should be given proper consideration and encouragement. The CAAC calls on all sectors of the society, especially the government departments, to pay attention to the fact that the growth rate of production and sales has fallen sharply since the beginning of this year. “The automobile industry once played an important role in coping with the economic crisis. As the industry chain is long and involved in a wide range, the effect of stimulating economic growth is obvious. When the automobile industry cannot be used, it encourages the policy, and now it is said that the vehicles are saturated and constantly suppress it. ”

As of May, the inventory of vehicle companies was 662,200, which was a decrease of 145,500 units compared to the end of 2010, and it showed a trend of declining inventory from month to month. China Automobile Association said that as the overall growth rate of the industry fell sharply, the company actively responded to the decline in inventory.

Faced with numerous "unfavorable factors," Dong Yang optimistically pointed out that in May 2008, automobile exports hit a record high in March 2008, with exports of 71,100 vehicles. According to the statistics of China Automobile Association Automobile Export Corporation, in May, the export of automobile enterprises increased by 6.79% from the previous month, and the year-on-year growth rate was 53.03%. From January to May, 225,400 vehicles were exported, an increase of 56.72% over the same period of the previous year.
