The Abu Dhabi Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), a well-known oil service company in the United Arab Emirates, said here on June 20 that it recently ordered a pipe-laying vessel from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in China.
Abu Dhabi Petroleum Construction Company said in a statement that the pipeline laying vessel is expected to be completed and delivered for use by the third quarter of 2012. However, the statement did not provide the value of the contract.
The statement added that Abu Dhabi Petroleum Construction Company plans to spend US$400 million to expand the company’s fleet.
Abu Dhabi owns most of the crude oil reserves and oil revenues of the third largest oil exporter in the United Arab Emirates.
