On April 27th, China Plastics Processing Industry Association awarded the license for the Western China (Chongqing) Plastic Ecological Industrial Park. Located in Liangping County, Chongqing, the Industrial Park is a plastics industrial cluster integrating research and development design, production and processing, testing and evaluation, trade logistics, and recycling. It covers five major fields: plastic products, plastic molds, plastics machinery, plastics modification, and trading markets. It is estimated that the output value will reach 50 billion yuan by 2025.
Qian Guijing, deputy chairman of the China Light Industry Council and chairman of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, stated that Chongqing is the largest notebook computer and automobile production base in the country, with a large demand for plastic materials and spare parts; with the cost of the eastern land and production factors With a substantial increase, the plastics industry is shifting to the west, bringing new opportunities for the development of the plastics industry in Chongqing. In addition, with the advancement of major national development strategies such as the “One Belt and One Roadâ€, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the Western Development, Chongqing is ushering in a new development opportunity as an important grounding and leading area for these strategies. He hoped that the construction of the industrial park will adhere to the principles of planning a high starting point, building high standards, providing high-efficiency services, high-level management, and high-quality development, and turn Chongqing into an industrial highland for plastic processing and manufacturing in western China.
According to Guo Jian, director of the Chongqing Economic and Trade Commission, Chongqing's development of plastics industry has multiple advantages. For example, the industrial foundation is good. In recent years, Chongqing's automobile, electronics, and home appliances industries have developed rapidly and are in urgent need of supporting related plastic parts and accessories industries; raw material supply is sufficient. Liangping has four major chemical bases, including Changshou, Fuling, Wanzhou, and Dazhou. A large number of well-known chemical companies including Weifang, BASF, Yangtze River, Fuling Sinochem, and Ziguang Chemical, and in particular BASF's 400,000-ton-a-year MDI project are about to start production, providing raw material protection for the gathering of the Liangping plastics industry.
It is reported that at present, the park has signed 16 formal contracts with an investment of 3.8 billion yuan. The estimated annual output value will reach 7.6 billion yuan; 27 plastics enterprises have been established. The products cover automotive plastic parts, plastic pipes/sheets, and wood-plastic composite materials. , daily-use plastics, recycled plastics and other fields.
