Soil moisture tester measures the effect of different farming practices on soil moisture in dry farmland

In order to study the effects of different conservation tillage measures on soil moisture in dry farmland, and to provide basis for improving the conservation efficiency and water use efficiency of dry farmland, we measured the dry farmland in no-tillage straw coverage using a specialized soil moisture tester. With the soil moisture situation under plastic film coverage, we found that different protective tillage measures have a greater impact on the soil moisture content in the surface layer of 0 to 10 cm.
The results of the soil moisture tester showed that no-tillage straw mulching can significantly increase the surface soil moisture during the sowing period. 0 to 200cm annual change of soil profile water storage capacity Spring and summer crops grow vigorously (mid-May to mid-July), summer and rainy seasons increase season (mid-July to late October) and winter and spring stable period (11 From January to early May, there are 3 phases. Although different conservation tillage measures have little effect on the water storage in the 0-200cm section, there is a significant difference in crop water consumption. No-till straw mulching increases crop water consumption while also increasing crop yield and water use efficiency. Film mulching in some years is also conducive to the efficient use of precipitation and crop yield improvement, but it is not conducive to the continuous improvement of soil fertility compared with straw mulching. Moreover, if wheat is planted, if the one-time precipitation is high before emergence, serious retrenchment will be caused, which will affect the emergence of seedlings, thereby reducing the yield and water use efficiency.
By comparing the measured data of the soil moisture tester, we can find that conservation tillage with real-time no-tillage and straw mulching in dry agricultural areas is a comparison of soil conservation and stability, and it is also very favorable for crops with limited precipitation. Efficient use, increase crop yields, and promote the sustainable development of agriculture, it is an agricultural method that is worth promoting.
